First Half Observations...

· Dodgers currently best team in baseball but some warning signs…not the least of which is that Billingsley has been a mere mortal in his last 10 starts ( and even worse in his last 5): See the stats below.

· Dodgers bullpen ranks 2nd in most innings thrown – now Belisario is out with arm soreness and Broxton with a bad toe…makes you go hmmmm.
· Dodgers may still win the Division…but they look like this year’s version of the 2008 Cubs. A quick exit from the playoffs when their pitching fails.
· Giants staff best in baseball statistically YTD but some warning signs: Johnson is hurt and not sure when he will return and how effective he will be. Zito is still an enigma at best – but not bad for a 4/5 starter.
· Giants bullpen is getting better as roles become more defined. Sergio Romo is a beast.
· Will Sanchez build off his incredible no-hitter or was that a fluke? Time will tell. If he finally “finds it” Giants become tougher to beat in ANY series.
· Cardinals 1-2 pitchers Carpenter/Wainright are second only to Giants 1-2 Lincecum and Cain.
· Halladay will tip the scales towards any team he is traded to…I hope he stays in Toronto.
· Can Colorado please go away?
· Sandoval brings Will Clark type of excitement to the Giants…fun, young, home grown star.
